Greetings From the Jersey Shore!  Welcome to My Story!

If you haven’t heard of it before, the Jersey Shore is a stretch of towns along the east coast of New Jersey, U.S. that borders on the Atlantic Ocean.

My name is Barbara and I live in the United States at the Jersey Shore, and this is my story.

I am a Freelance writer. When you need it done right, I can help with most any digital and/or graphic project.

But that’s not all! Keep reading down below and you will learn all there is to know about me.

A Bit About Me…

My story began sixty-five years ago in a small urban town in northern NJ.

I grew up looking at the New York City skyline from my bedroom window — across the river on the Jersey (JRZ) side.

Staring at it each night before I went to bed, made me realize — even as far back as a young child, that the world is a big place, and you need to do whatever it takes to make your dreams come true.

Never give up on what you really want in life. Develop your goals, set your path and go headstrong after that dream. If you can dream it, you can do it.

A mom of two adult children, I am a published author and poet, a college graduate with a degree in Business Administration/Management, a United States Air Force disabled veteran, a dog lover and a cancer survivor.

My story certainly does not end there. Not by any means. You’ll find out more below, so don’t stop reading now!

After my service in the United States Air Force came to an end, I became a licensed insurance agent then went on to work for the federal government as a Logistics Analyst and Procurement Coordinator for over twenty years.

The Story Behind My Writing…

The story behind my writing first began when I was a freshman in high school, nearly fifty years ago.

Scribbling on paper or in the bindings of my textbooks, thoughts and observations of my surroundings and what or how I was feeling became a serious habit with me.

And just like that, I was conveying those thoughts and observations into poems.

In college I studied prose writing and my professor took an interest in my writing and suggested I try to have them published.

My first published poem didn’t happen until the 1980s when I entered poetry contests and was offered publication in poetry anthologies such as The American Poetry Association, The World of Poetry Press, The National Library of Poetry, The International Who’s Who in Poetry and The World Poetry Movement — to name just a few.

Submitting my poems to contests continued until 2014, when I decided to compile all the poems I had written to that date and self-publish and design my own book of poems through the use of Shutterfly.

This particular edition is not in the marketplace because it was created with my own personal fulfillment in mind. Proving to myself that I could actually do it, came as a huge accomplishment.

More poems would follow before deciding to incorporate everything written to date, into one book. That decision was made in early 2020.

During that time, I was also very busy creating and maintaining two affiliate marketing websites and unfortunately, my idea for publishing my book of poems was placed on the back burner.

The two websites I mentioned above are Love A Rescue Dog and Living On Lean Means . Building then certainly consumed a great deal of my time. They still do.

However, in February 2021, I finally made my fifty-year old dream come to fruition, and self-published my poetry collection through Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP).

As a result, I am happy to say, “When Hearts Collide, Etcetera“, is now featured online at Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.comand iTunes exclusively through NewmanSprings.com.

Other Adventures in Writing…

Creative writing is just one of my passions. I will let you in on some others a little further below.

For now, I would like to continue sharing with you about other writing adventures.

In my twenty-three-year career as a United States Federal Government employee, I learned to master many skills and used many tools in doing so until I was a highly proficient technical writer.

Those skills included researching and writing many types of documents that were applicable to the position (s) I held.

My proficiencies include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access along with the ability to access, update, and maintain a myriad of federal government databases in the fields or logistics and procurement.

As a college student during the mid 2000’s, I became very proficient in writing research and term papers.

Soon after publishing my book of poetry, I embarked on a totally new writing adventure.

I dove headfirst into writing and designing my very first eBook — “Blogging Your Way To A New Career“.  Blogging Your Way to a New Career is a step-by-step guide that teaches you how to do just that…Blog Your Way to a New Career.

In the eBook I discuss how to take something you are extremely passionate about and turn it into an online business or simply a way to create additional income streams for yourself.

This is a step-by-step guide that will teach you just how to create and run your very own blog. You can do this from anywhere provided you have a laptop and an internet connection.

I followed that up with about the ups and downs, expectations and realities of Affiliate Marketing. “The Journey From Fixed Income To Successful Business” discusses the highs and lows, the difficulties and the pros and cons of living on a fixed income, how do you sabotage yourself financially without knowing it, being an Affiliate Marketer, an Entrepreneur, and a member of Wealthy Affiliate educational platform. It’s not all a piece of cake, yet it is a long and winding road that’s worth taking.

One last mention about my creative writing efforts. I am currently in the process of writing and illustrating a non-fiction book.

Its title will be “Echoes from the Porch” and should be finished in by Fall 2023, that is if I can stop working on other projects long enough to spend some time on it.

Other Passions and Interests…

My interests vary from good food, music, art, photography, television, movies, festivals, craft fairs, travel and religion to American Football and European Football (soccer).

On weekends, if I am not spending time with family and friends, you can most likely find me at or watching a football game.

Rescue Dog Crazy…

My two great passions are a four-legged furry buddy named Chance and advocating for rescue and shelter dogs throughout the world.

Throughout my formidable years, there had been dogs in my family. They all grew to become the most loving creatures of my childhood. As an adult, I have had three dogs off my own.

In my household currently, there are two other rescue dogs besides Chance, but they belong to my son.

Chance and I rescued each other in November 2017, and we have been living happily together for the past four years. He was five years old in September 2021.

He has become my blog writing assistant because he has been by my side every step of the way on this journey. We have even made a few videos together. Just some fun stuff.

As an adult dog owner, I’m truly passionate about the plight of homeless, malnourished, mistreated, neglected, underappreciated and abused dogs in this world, so much so that I can’t bear to watch the ASPCA commercials on television.

Shelters are understaffed and overcrowded, so if a dog doesn’t find a home (get adopted) within twenty-five days of entering some shelters, they are actually placed on death row and euthanized.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many dogs were adopted to be companions for those working from home or simply confined to their home.

Sadly, as COVID restrictions were lifted, and people returned to the workplace, thousands of dogs that were adopted, were surrendered to shelters. To me this is an unthinkable act of selfishness and a horrible thing to even imagine.

So, if you are able, and have a big heart, PLEASE DON’T SHOP, ADOPT!

My Wealthy Affiliate Journey…

I am retired and have been for over five years, and since my retirement was caused by an illness, I live on a disability income. It is absolutely no fun trying to stretch my income each month.

Feeling quite bored and under productive, I decided to search for legitimate ways to supplement my income working from home, when I came across Wealthy Affiliate.

Affiliate Marketing…

Wealthy Affiliate is an educational platform that teaches you how to legitimately make money online. You can learn all about Wealthy Affiliate by clicking the blue link above.

Since being at Wealthy Affiliate, I have created two fully functional Affiliate Marketing websites and have written more than one hundred and forty-six articles for those websites mentioned above and currently in the process of building a third website.

I have written four hundred and thirty blog posts within the platform, created nine training tutorials, was an ambassador for more than 120 days, and I am still ranking in the top 500 in the community.

In addition to this, I created a YouTube Channel, two Facebook Groups that promote my websites, a LinkedIn account, and an Instagram account.

September 2021 marked my second anniversary at Wealthy Affiliate. I am proud of everything I have accomplished in this time.

I totally enjoy the Wealthy Affiliate Platform and the community because I learn so very much each day from both.

If you need to create additional income streams for yourself or maybe start your own online affiliate marketing business, give Wealthy Affiliate a try.

My Purpose Is…

In my 60+ years of being on this earth, I was never really a person of well means.

Life threw me some curve balls and I threw some at myself as well. But I have learned many lessons along the way and truly have become the best version of myself.

I had to learn to pull myself up and start all over several times before I could get it right.

My passion for helping people has led me to create this website. I hope I can help you as an individual or your company with your outsourcing needs. As mentioned above, I can help with most any type of digital or graphic project.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me. My contact information is below, or you can leave a question or comment in the section below and I will be happy to respond.

Best Regards,

Barbara
